Are these books appropriate for . . .?

I don't know much about Sookie whatever, but I do know that the Gossip Girl series (although not as inappropriate as the television show) is not good for little girls. I don't know how old she is, but they wouldn't be terrible for high school age. Yet I would never touch them myself because of the lack of vocabulary and plot line. I think the Pretty Little Liars books aren't as bad, but it would be better to, obviously, place her in front of a more clic novel.
