Can I file bankrupcty to clear a judgement that has been placed yet?

Bankruptcy will probably not clear you of this....depending on what chapter that will be used. Sounds like you need to get a better lawyer......hopefully if you had insurance, they'll pay.....that way if the insurance refuses to pay they can sue them. In the mean time......you need to get everything out of your name.......or they can take it in lieu of the judgment. You can transfer it to one of your children or a family member. You've learned a hard lesson, so don't do it again. If you do, then you just may get prison time. Best of luck to you.
