Scaphoid fracture! should i play cricket?

I had a screw put in my scaphoid in my left wrist 2 weeks ago. The doctor said im not allowed to play cricket for 4 months, is this true? Im a right handed batsmen and bowler so not much pressure is put on it. Should i take the doctors advice or should i play?
