Why would the lining of my gall bladder be thickened?

I had an ultrasound yesterday to determine the cause of my recurrent UTI's. The radiologist said that I have a gall stone measuring approx 16mm across and that the lining of my gall bladder was thicker than it should be, he said it should be no more than 3mm and mine is 7.6mm. I asked what might cause this and he said it could be a sign of infection, I have looked up the signs and they all mention pain, however the only pain I have been having is in my left kidney due to UTI. Are there any other causes of thickening?

I don't know much about Sookie whatever, but I do know that the Gossip Girl series (although not as inappropriate as the television show) is not good for little girls. I don't know how old she is, but they wouldn't be terrible for high school age. Yet I would never touch them myself because of the lack of vocabulary and plot line. I think the Pretty Little Liars books aren't as bad, but it would be better to, obviously, place her in front of a more clic novel.

Since I have been a critical care RN for many years, this has actually happened to a rare few of my patients. Coughing and deep breaths minutely change the negative pressure within the chest cavity to produce minor pressures on the heart and lungs to actually produce your described effects. Although, not everyone can do this, since they faint first from either hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias. I have seen this happen especially on pts. with cardiac arrhythmias in ICU/CCU and it does work, however temporarily. Most medical personnel do not accept this theory and believe that it is a crock. Probably because they have not seen it done or disbelieve in it. I'm convinced that it does work.

What upset you the most at a funeral?

I am a young widow and when my late husband ped away and my brother and sister in law flew in and stayed with me and complained the whole time how expensive the airfare was. They did not have flowers for him either, nor my husbands father or his sisters. The father and sisters did not travel to the funeral, the father saying it was too far, one sister was pg and couldn't fly, although I thought she could have driven and the other sister is scared to leave the house and can't stand being in a car although someone offered to drive her. None of the immediate family was there, but the fathers brothers (my husbands uncles) traveled to be there. I was forever grateful for their attendance. The father and none of the sisters had floral arrangements for him and one sister works for a floral shop. I was upset because no one made any effort in at least getting him flowers. I had the burial months later (he was cremated) and the father and one sister showed up for that, but again no flowers. The father showed up only because he was being buried in the city he was living in. At the burial I was the only one that got a floral arrangement. Yes, flowers die, but aren't flowers suppose to show respect towards the deceased.

Watch the wound closely until it has completely healed. If you see any sign of infection (foul smell, swelling or irritation, or it just isn't healing) seek vet istance asap.

Animal Shelter Funding??

I live in a rural area, and unwanted dogs are constantly being dumped on my doorstep. I have had 3 this week. One of the animals was so starved, there was nothing we could do to help him. Our County Animal shelter is busting at the seams with animals and they simply cannot take anymore animals. I want to seek funding for this shelter for expansion and medical and upkeep. Do you know of any organization, government or otherwise that would be willing to financially help this shelter? I would be willing to write grants requesting funds if I could find any that are available. Dark, Sticky Discharge Between Periods???

For the past few months I've been getting a dark (black brown) sticky discharge in between periods. I think it may be blood because sometimes when I wipe along with the dark stuff there's some light red stuff. It'll last for a few days and then go away until the next month. I'm not pregnant, my periods come normally, and i'm ually active. My menstrual cramps HAVE been more painful in the last few periods, too. I have been watching Cold Case Files, American Justice, 48 Hours Mystery, Dateline, Criminal Minds, Law and Order for years. I am also always interested in the news and what's happening in the world, even if it's bad. I've read real crime stories (which include every detail), and find them interesting. I always discuss these cases and current events with people and my mom thinks I have become obsessive with murder cases and child abuse cases etc. After all these years of this, I actually have become paranoid and terrified of getting abducted or murdered or tortured or some random creep breaking into my house and chopping me up. Can anyone help me find out anything about the history of a japanese bowl that I have had for about 30 years?

I have searched books and the web but have never seen anything else that resembles it. I think it is stoneware and I bought it in an antiques auction in the 1980s. It is about 10" wide at the top and tapers to a pedestal of about 6" in diameter. The main body has a crackle glaze and it has a band of dull brown with tooling top and bottom. The outside has detailed decoration of what seem to be samurai warriors carrying spears on horseback and these are brightly coloured in what looks like an enamel finish. The horses have really wild eyes! Inside it is quite plain appart from a white egret in the centre. I love this bowl but would love to know more about it, where it came from and what age it might be. There was no information about it when I bought it at the sale so if anyone can help I should be most grateful for anything they can tell me.

Now my there wasn't really a huge performance difference between the 2 processors for example in the experince index for cpu score my sempron gets 4.1 and the core 2 duo gets 5.4 So there ins't a huge difference between the 2 like people hype up to. And looking at 1 chart in tom's hardware where a duo core was compared to a sempron at video encoding, the sempron does it in 620 seconds and the core 2 duo does it in 500 seconds so there ins't really a huge performance difference between the 2 then what are the advantages of a core 2 duo over a sempron.

Am I doing my tattoo aftercare correctly?

I'm just curious cause I just recently got a tattoo and I wasn't given a care sheet. It's on my shoulder, and colored red. She gave me some wax for it after I clean it. I use soap, but I get it on my hands, and wipe it on the tattoo, and then take a wash cloth and squeeze the water to go down it. Then I take some paper towel, and lightly press it against the tattoo areas, and remove it. Then air dry it for about 5 minutes, then put the wax on it. I'm also curious if it's regular for the tattoo to leave some imprints of the tattoo in my shirt at times. I'm quite not sure if it's blood or not considering it's red. But it doesn't run with ink when I clean it. Also when are good times to clean it? I do it in the morning, afternoon, and at night.

wow well i can't help you this far away but our swimming pool company delivers pool water in our full-size semi tanker...if you have a local fire department we always recommend them if you can't have a pool company bring it in. Be careful if the water they deliver is on a well. If so you would need to use a sequestering agent to help remove these minerals in your water to help make the water clear and not stain your pool and or your clothes with all the rust in well water. Even if it's not on a well its still great to use a sequestering agent to remove any type of minerals...all water has minerals just some are worse than others. Iron Levels Related to Gastric Byp?

This is both a statement and a question. My mother had a gastric byp 12 years ago. About 6 months ago she had a knee surgery where she lost a lot of blood. Since then she has been very sick with extremely low iron levels in her blood. Despite all of the iron tablets and iron rich foods she was eating it wasn't changing. I was a computer programmer in the US, only 1/3 of programmers were women 30 years ago, and 1/3 of programmers are women today. In the 1970's and 1980's, ual harment was pretty popular among some of the older (and less competent) males. It got better, but I found the field too conservative and stifling, so I got into other careers related to it, that weren't quite so uptight and rigid. It's still not popular to be a geek, women think you have to be great at math and you just have to think linearly (logically) for many computer related jobs. As for engineers, I had to work around about 500 of them at one firm, and talk about a geeky, ist, socially inept group of men! Even the male programmers complained about how icky the engineers were-they were disgusting, according to our co-workers. Hopefully that has changed..but if not, it could explain a few things.

Okay moms hat would you do in this situation? Gas leak!?

So my boyfriend and I are in the process of moving into ou apartment. We have OAU th deposit and rent for February and our landlord said we could move in whenever. So we go there today and we turn the heat on and smell strong gas. We call gas company they come and say there is a leak in the gas line and they red tagged the furnace saying carbon monoxide was leaking from it and a few other things are wrong. The filter for the furnace is just laying in top of it fo example. Well we called the landlord all day and never got am answer finally I looked up her house number, called and she answered and said she would have the maintamce guy come out and look at it tomorrow. Now, shouldn't she have a furnace contractor come and not just a maintance guy? I don't see how he could fix a gas line, figure out what's wrong with the furnace and fix it. Also, the gas company said whoever came to fix it was responsible for turning it back on and checking for leaks. We have a baby and I want to know it is for sure fixed before we move in, what should we do? How do I tell her there needs to be a professional fixing it not just some guy? What would you do? I would just leave everything as is, when she's ready to come out (if she is a ) then she will. There's nothing wrong with being a tomboy and it's not a huge indicator of someone's uality. You could define pride, love, and courage a number of different ways, and you would probably get a different definition depending on who you ask. No matter what the conscious is doing there is always plenty of grey area. I'm with you on this one. I"m a huge Ohio St and happy we're in it, but I don't understand how LSU can move up so high. Ohio St lost to Illinois when there were ranked #1 and didn't move down that much. Missouri lost to a very good Oklahoma team, and LSU moves up past them? I don't see how, but that's why I said it years ago, and I will say it years from now. Develop some type of playoff system like basketball does. It doesn't have to be a bunch of teams, maybe 8 or 16, and play it on the saturdays in december. Ohio St last played 17 Nov, and don't play until 7 Jan 08,,that's 49 days in between games. They could start and finish a playoff tournament during the downtime. And with football, another big factor is when you lose, not how many you lose. If the #2 through #5 ranked teams all have 2 losses, and #1 rank has zero, if the #1 ranked team loses their last game of the year, does that mean they won't play for the title. With the current process, they wouldn't because they lost their last game, whether it be a conf championship game or not. That's anothre reason why I like the playoff scenario.

I had the most incredible professor last semester. He's beautiful, intelligent, and articulate. He's a grad student working towards his PhD. He's 28 and I am 22. I'm pretty sure he's single. I live in northern indiana and I went outside around 12:30 at night. I was only about 35 ft away with a spotlight. after shining it on the animal for about a minute i looked away for 2 seconds and it was gone. And i was in a huge open flat area! It was 8 in tall, and 1 1/2 long, black and looked like a huge rat. It was near some mole tunnels or ground hog tunnels in my yard, but i know it was neither. It did look like a abnormaly oversized mole though. Anyway, I was close enough to get a good description, im really surprised ive never seen or heard of one of these before. I thought it could have been a skunk but it was all black and I didnt see a big tail on it. It had that destinct smal head that lead up to a bigger body, kindof like a rat, but its too big to be that. Any ideas?
